Shri Ojaswwee Sharma, a distinguished National Award-winning Film Director, Producer, and Screenwriter from India, has etched his name in the history of modern world cinema.

He is one of the visionary filmmakers of modern times whose filmography is deeply rooted in Indian culture and realism. Ojaswwee received the esteemed National Award, ‘Rajat Kamal,’ for his film ‘Admitted,’ presented by the 15th President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at the 68th National Film Awards. Additionally, he won the title of Best National Documentary 2022 for ‘Admitted’ from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India. He has been honored with the Chanakya Award 2023 by the Public Relations Council of India and Excellence in India’s First Multi-Inclusive Film by the Media Federation of India in 2024 for his film ‘Rabb Di Awaaz.’ His creative work has also earned him the prestigious IRPRA 40 Under 40 accolade three times consecutively for the years 2023, 2022, and 2021, recognizing his outstanding contributions to “Best Creative Entertainment Campaigns” in India, especially in Chandigarh and Punjab for producing film-based campaigns for rural healthcare and the environment.

With over a decade of filmmaking experience, Ojaswwee’s filmography and philanthropy are a testimony to his ability to create thought-provoking cinema that resonates globally. His works have won over 30 awards and recognitions and have been selected for more than 100 International Film Festivals. His films and documentaries cover a wide range of subjects including social equality, gender diversity, inclusivity, cultural awareness, humanitarian initiatives, healthcare, education, environment and sustainability, crime and legal awareness, social awareness, farmers’ emotions, old age, cultural reflection, the impact of social media, and important moments in Indian history.

A recent standout in his work is the Hindi feature film Rabb Di Awaaz’ recognized as India’s first multi-inclusive film. The film is a torchbearer of the Inclusive Cinema Movement in India which has set an unprecedented milestone in Cinema accessibility and affordability with free screenings and being released and screened with Hindi audio description and Indian Sign Language for free. It addresses important themes such as mental health, disability, and inclusivity in mainstream Indian society. It reflects the challenges faced by individuals in society and uses social media to spread meaningful information and advocate for the rights and well-being of internet users of all ages and genders, including people with disabilities. ‘Rabb Di Awaaz’ received the award for Best Film on Disability at the World Film Festival, Cannes.

Ojaswwee’s major international breakthrough was recognized worldwide by the National Award-winning ‘Admitted,’ a feature documentary on transgender education and human rights in India. The film, based on the true story of the first transgender student of Panjab University, received the Special Jury award at the 68th National Film Awards in 2020 and the Silver Conch for Best Documentary at MIFF 2022, both awarded by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.

His extensive body of work includes not only the award-winning feature films ‘Rabb Di Awaaz’ and ‘Admitted’ but also short films such as ‘Zubaan,’ ‘The Last Date,’ ‘Rooh,’ and ‘Badalti Soch’, and musicals such as ‘Muntazir’, ‘Phoori’ and ‘Loneliness’. As a prolific producer and director, he has led projects for the Sikhlens Foundation like the short film: Chaurassi,’ and documentaries: ‘Scars – That Remain After 100 Years of Jallianwala Bagh Massacre,’ ‘Silver Lining,‘One Beat,’ ‘Art Finds Its Way,’ and ‘Sarbat Da Bhala.’ Over his career, he has produced more than 20 films and hundreds of programs, including films, ad campaigns, television and talk shows, digital features, short films, and documentaries, creating a total of over 600 videos for numerous organizations and partners.

As a partner of India’s leading film company Pinaka Mediaworks LLP, Ojaswwee also leads RFE TV Rolling Frames Entertainment Digital Distribution Network, Rolling Frames Motion Pictures, and MasterShot Pictures. He also represents Sikhlens in India and serves as the Festival Director for Sikhlens: Sikh Arts & Film Festival India Chapter. Since 2020, Ojaswwee has successfully organized five editions of this festival in India annually.
